What is AIDA?
AIDA (Autafy Intelligence Driven Agent) is your personal AI agent. It connects to your email, calendar, files, and tools — letting you manage your day, automate tasks, and get things done just by chatting.
AIDA is built by Autafy and runs securely on your own machine — you stay in full control of your data.
What can AIDA do?
- Email — read, search, reply, and send emails via Gmail or Outlook
- Calendar — check events, create appointments, get daily briefings
- Tasks — manage Google Tasks or Microsoft To Do
- Files — search and read files from Google Drive or OneDrive
- Read documents & images — drop a PDF, photo, or screenshot into the chat and AIDA reads it
- Voice — talk to AIDA and have it read replies back aloud
- Web Search — look up current information on the internet
- Memory — remember your preferences and key facts about you
- Automations — schedule AIDA to run tasks automatically on a recurring basis (daily, weekly, etc.)
- Skills — specialized behaviors that trigger automatically on the right cues
- Local AI — optionally run free AI models on your own computer
Step 1 — Set Up Your AI Model
AIDA needs an AI model to power its responses. You can connect a cloud provider with an API key, or run models locally on your own computer for free.
Cloud providers (API key)
- OpenRouter (Recommended) — one API key gives access to hundreds of models from all major providers, including many free models with no credit card required. The simplest way to start. See the OpenRouter Setup guide.
- OpenAI — use GPT-4o and other OpenAI models directly with your OpenAI API key.
- Anthropic — use Claude (Sonnet, Opus, and Haiku) directly with your Anthropic API key.
- Google — use Gemini models directly via Google AI Studio.
- xAI — use Grok models directly with your xAI API key.
- Ollama Cloud — run Ollama's hosted models with an Ollama API key, no local hardware needed. For free, fully private models on your own computer, see Local AI (free, private) below.
Local AI (free, private)
Run models entirely on your own computer — free, private, and no API key needed:
- Ollama — see the Local AI — Ollama guide.
- LM Studio — easy-to-use desktop app, see the Local AI — LM Studio guide.
Step 2 — Connect Your Accounts
Optional, but strongly recommended — this is where AIDA goes from a smart chatbot to a real assistant. Connecting your accounts lets it actually read your inbox, check your calendar, and find your files:
- Google Workspace — Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Tasks → see the Google Workspace Setup guide
- Microsoft 365 — Outlook, Calendar, OneDrive, Teams → see the Microsoft 365 Setup guide
- Telegram — chat with AIDA from your phone → see the Telegram Bot Setup guide
- Web Search — let AIDA look things up online → see the Web Search Setup guide
You can connect these anytime from Settings.
Step 3 — Start Chatting
Once your model is set up, click Chat in the sidebar and start talking to AIDA.
Example things to try:
- "What's on my calendar today?"
- "Check my inbox for unread emails"
- "Search the web for the latest AI news"
- "Remember that I prefer concise responses"
- "Create a task to review the Q2 report by Friday"
- "Give me my morning briefing"
You can also use the buttons in the chat bar to talk (microphone), hear replies aloud (speaker), or attach a file (paperclip) for AIDA to read. Files AIDA creates for you arrive as cards in the chat — click the name to preview, or the ↓ button to download.
